Be a part of the 2nd annual 3 Chaparrals 3/6 Hour Endurance Trail Run! This is a fixed time event that will take place on a 4 mile loop course in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Participants will record the greatest distance possible during their chosen duration. Only fully complete course loops will count towards your distance. This is a trail run and portions of the course can be quite technical. The start will be at the Mack Dick Pavilion and the course will be the 4 mile Kiowa/Comanche Loop.

Relay info

This 6-hour trail relay is a team event where teams of 2-3 runners tackle a 4-mile loop to maximize total laps. The team with the highest number of laps, followed by the fastest total time, wins. Exchanges must happen in the designated exchange zone, with a required timing chip pass. Each member must complete at least one loop, but teams may otherwise rotate runners at their own discretion. No new laps may begin after 5 hours and 35 minutes.

*The team with the most loops completed within the 6-hour limit wins. If loops are tied, the team with the fastest total time wins.

*Last Loop Cutoff: Team relay runners cannot begin a new loop after 12:30 pm.

*Final Loop Completion: Loops started before the the cut-off time must be finished for them to count.

*Relay Exchange Zone: You’ll be allowed to set up a base camp/tent area within the exachange zone to support your food, hydration, rest, and other aid station needs.

*Each relay participant will receive a bib at PPU.

*The team member wearing the timing chip is the only team member permitted on course.
